Biolchini - The Polish Roots Through Woloczynski

Woloczynski or Biolchini ?

I did contacted several people here and there and my conclusion is that despite the fact we have the same surname, probably someone, far back to some centuries ago, has adopted the Biolchini surname and started a new branch unrelated to an existing Biolchini family. And if we take in consideration the stories told us in our family circles that Felice Biolchini was a in fact a polish who immigrated to Italy, then is more likely that he has taken the Biolchini surname in order to replace the polish surname known as "Woloczynski".

Woloczynski is a very hard name to find any piece of information. Even in Poland I could not find a single person with that name. I have searched telephone directories, polish libraries, church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and huge genealogical databases with millions of records. No trace at all. An exception is a very limited data that I found at Shtetlinks jewish genealogical site that cites a someone called "Woloczynski" as being victim of German war crimes in Lida, Belarus. In this instance "Woloczynski" is a Russian Jew. I believe that a more exhaustive effort has to be done in order to confirm a relation between Biolchini and Woloczynski .

I went to Rome a few times in the last years for leisure and also for research. I met Biolchini members, searched libraries, universities, church records, etc  The information given to me were more regarding people's names and dates, no many stories or facts that I was  not already aware.

Back to Rome, the most prominent  Biolchini is without any doubt is Pietro Biolchini, a Roman born around 1810, an astronomer married to Rosa Pieri. Pietro was a close acquaintance of vatican authorities and had many of his scientific works published by the Vatican’s controlled press or under influence of it. The scope of Pietro's work was so important that even British Library has some copies of his works which are stored in a secure area and can only been seen by appointment.  Among his works, we can find "Acque Minerali di Viterbo", published in 1845 by "Giornale Arcadico" which Pietro was secretary in Roma.  It is basically a study in how to improve the water condition of Viterbo river. It seems that on that time Pietro was aware of the consequences of pollution in our environment.
